Vicky Jardim (born 24 July[1]) is an Australian television journalist.

Jardim is currently a reporter for Nine News Melbourne since August 2008.

Career

Vicky Jardim graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Journalism in 2001. During the last year of her degree, she completed a cadetship at Seven Brisbane and then joined Nine Brisbane as a Script Assistant following the completion of her studies.[2]

In 2002, Vicky joined WIN News Shepparton as a general reporter. After a 18 months, she was appointed as the Bureau Chief/Reporter where she managed a team of six journalists and cameramen.

At the end of 2004, Vicky accepted a position at WIN News Ballarat where she regularly presented news updates and reported on a range of rural Victorian and Melbourne stories.[2]

She specialised in court reporting and took part in a national pilot program where she completed feature stories on issues affecting country communities. One of the highlights during her time at WIN News was covering the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.

In 2006, Vicky joined the ABC in Melbourne as a television and radio reporter. She covered an extensive range of stories including the bushfires, the Gippsland floods, Richard Pratt cartel case and the fallout from the Office of Police Integrity hearings.[2]

She was also a business reporter on the ABC's national finance desk. She also was given the opportunity to expand her knowledge of international news with a stint as an Associate Producer and fill-in Presenter on the ABC's Asia Pacific News bulletin.

After more than seven years in different reporting roles, Vicky returned to Nine News in August 2008 where she took up a reporting role in the Melbourne newsroom.[2] She also occasionally presents Nine News Melbourne news updates and is a fill in news presenter on Weekend Today.

Personal life

Vicky enjoys travelling, relaxing with friends and winding down with a great book.[2]
